Working with tasks

Retry a background API request

  1. Task changes and filing retry lost responses once, along with links, dependencies, moves, resume, planning, feedback, rechecks and CI simulation. Retry unchanged choices in the same account/tab when unconfirmed. After a confirmed failure, submit again.
  2. Reload recovery needs HTTPS/localhost and storage. It keeps an ID, never form text; reload sends nothing.
  3. API: reuse Idempotency-Key for board passes/rechecks. Experiments reuse requestId for one turn; undispatched turns interrupt after five minutes. New work needs a new ID.

Move a task

  1. Open the task at /<workspace>/tasks/TASK_ID.
  2. Choose "Move to" and a destination, such as "Triaging". A move into the factory reads "Send to"; provide a reason when asked.

File tasks proposed by the Assistant

  1. Keep the Assistant's proposed rows you want and choose where they start. Tick P0 yourself; a suggestion grants nothing.
  2. File the kept tasks or "Decline all". Tasks and their outcome save together; a failed save files nothing. Filing happens once. After a lost reply, retry the same choices to recover its outcome.

Restart refinement

  1. On the task page, choose "Restart refinement". Add a note about what the fresh shaping pass should do differently.
  2. Restarting clears obsolete questions, research asks and approvals together. A refusal keeps them; documents and history stay.
  3. A live run requires confirmation before restarting. A note does not make an otherwise unavailable restart legal; reopening a finished task uses its separate move control.

Retry a failed run

  1. Open the failure's /<workspace>/approvals/APPROVAL_ID.
  2. Pick the recovery the card offers, such as "Try again with N GiB" for a memory failure or "Commit stray changes as wip" for stray changes. Answering releases the retry.
  3. If only "Send back to <step>…" is offered, say what changed in the box and click it.
  4. For a timeout, choose "Retry with a smaller scope…" and pick or write a scope reduction.

Pull in the next sprint

  1. Open the Factory board and find "Planning".
  2. Click "Pull in Next" in the column's reserved row. If the workspace is paused, confirm "Pull in anyway".
  3. An agent with the grant does the same through the pullNextSprint tool.

Park a task and bring it back

  1. On the task page, choose "Move to parking lot" from the move controls and confirm "Park task".
  2. The task rests in "Parking lot" until its re-entry condition is met.
  3. To bring it back, use "Unpark to" on the task page and pick the step.

Get a stale plan building again

  1. Open the approval for the stalled plan; it is the card that offers "Plan it again".
  2. Click "Plan it again" when the plan itself is the problem, or "Send to refinement" when the task was edited, moved repository, or never refined.

Break up an oversize task

  1. When planning finds several tasks in one, its approval offers two ways forward.
  2. Click "Send to refinement to shape first" to send it to refinement, or "Build it as one" to build it as it is.
